What You’ll Do
We’re hiring a junior investor to join our six-person investment team. You’ll be deeply involved across all stages of the investment process — sourcing, evaluating, and supporting the next generation of category-defining companies.
Key Responsibilities:
· Source high-quality deals through your own network, founder referrals, and our ecosystem of operators, angels, and early-stage funds
· Review pitches, meet with founders, and assess product, market, and competitive dynamics
· Conduct diligence including market analysis, customer insights, competitive mapping, and financial modeling
· Manage our CRM and deal pipeline, ensuring the team has the information needed to move quickly
· Support portfolio companies on key strategic and operational initiatives
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a sourcing machine who thrives on building relationships, has sharp instincts for talent and opportunity, and gets energy from meeting founders. We’re open to diverse backgrounds, but the common thread is hustle, EQ, and a genuine love of meeting founders and operators.
You might be:
· A junior investor at a large fund who wants to go earlier-stage and take on more direct responsibility in a smaller, entrepreneurial team
· An analyst/associate at a pre-seed or seed firm who’s ready to lead deals and own relationships
· A startup operator who’s deeply networked in the founder community and wants to move to the investing side
· An active angel investor or scout who sees a lot of deal flow and wants a full-time platform to go deeper
· A recent grad who’s a super-connector: running a student fund, building founder communities, or otherwise in the mix
Location & Track
This is a two-year, NYC-based role with the potential for upward mobility within Torch or spring boarding into startups, new funds, or launching your own venture.
